from berlin with love...from the middle east with war

we had so much fun at the love parade today. crazy wigs and outfits, loud music, crowd dancing the night away. all whom we met or got to tak with were friendly and smiling people (apparently one can smile even walking naked down the street). all in all -  love is back - and it"s love parade's slogan. 

then, back to hotel, i found an email from a friend who lives in Lebanon now:
The situation here in Lebanon is volatile with regular attacks by the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) on our fair city of Beirut and its environs.  So far, the raids have been primarily directed at Hezbollah, but one can only see an escalation of the conflict if the prevailing rhetoric provides any indication.
As for me, I am fine, safe, and enjoying some peace after several sleepless nights in the capitol.  To this end, I have moved north to Byblos after the action got a bit hot near my flat in West Beirut.  It is quiet here in the hinterlands though the IDF did attack a power station in a city not far from here. 

why dear people? let's better make love, not war...
